Hi, I’m Shelby

As someone who navigated chronic illness from childhood and spent years struggling with my relationship with food and body, I intimately understand the challenges you're facing.

Through my personal journey and professional training as a Registered Dietitian, I've discovered that true wellness comes from working with your body, not against it.

Now, I help women make peace with their food, bodies, and health so they can share their light with the world and live fully alive.

"The glory of God is man fully alive" - St. Irenaeus

The good news is you can…

Care for your body and health well, without being controlled by rules, rigidity, and anxiety.

Learn to embrace food as nourishment and pleasure, without the fear.

Overcome body shame and accept the freedom to be more fully present in your life.

What my clients are saying

  • My life has been transformed through working alongside Good Body Nutrition. Within the first preliminary meeting, Shelby helped me find answers that I had sought elsewhere for a decade! And Shelby's support continued strong over months of recovery from disordered eating. I've made phenomenal progress, I'm so grateful for this experience, and I highly recommend Good Body Nutrition for anyone who struggles in their relationship with food

    Amanda S.

  • Shelby worked with me to meet some very specific goals, and her advice was so helpful to my understanding of how to manage some of the health conditions I live with from a dietary perspective.

    Lisa P.

  • I met Shelby very providentially at a Women's Conference. I had just been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and I was doing a very strict diet, and I was having a horrible time with it! It was basically like a cleanse, but it was not working. I was very stressed out about food and what I could and couldn't eat, because the author who I was following was swearing by her diet plan. Shelby helped me put the pieces back together of my diet plan and also helped me incorporate new foods into my diet that are supportive and helpful of ulcerative colitis. I appreciated her well-researched and sound advice. I am now back to a normal, healthy diet, and I have great variety in what I eat. Plus, I enjoy what I am eating again!

  • Leaving session with Shelby always left me feeling grounded and rooted in my values and beliefs around food and my body. Shelby always brought a sense of calm and a realistic perspective to these conversations around food and body image that can otherwise feel confusing and overwhelming.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work primarily with women 18 years and older.

Individuals may find me an especially good fit for their needs if they value being able to incorporate a Christian/Catholic worldview and approach into their counseling, and if they are open to exploring a new understanding of health and wellness that may be different from the diet-focused education so many of us received growing up.

If your main/only goal for nutrition counseling services is to lose weight, we may not be a good fit. (Here's why)

That said, I find that most of my clients who have weight loss goals also have other underlying health goals that we can identify together and intentionally work toward. You don't have to, "love the body size you are in" to work with Good Body Nutrition, you just need to be open to considering an approach that uses parameters other than weight to measure health and progress.

  • Exciting news! Good Body Nutrition is in the process of becoming credentialed with some insurance providers (in select states).

If you are interested in using insurance benefits for nutrition counseling, please feel free to bring it up in your discovery call so we provide updates on our credentialing status and set expectations for coverage.

For clients that will not be covered by insurance, services are private pay.

Good Body Nutrition can provide superbills that you can use for possible reimbursement with your insurance provider.

  • For the vast majority of clients, sessions will be held virtually on the HIPAA-protected platform, Healthie.

There is select availability for in-person sessions for individuals local to Saint Louis, Missouri.

There is an additional $25 fee for in-person sessions.

Virtual sessions are always an option for local clients as well.

  • Absolutely! At Good Body Nutrition, we love to collaborate with your team (physicians, therapists, psychiatrists, etc.) to help provide cohesive, and effective care.

Doing so simply requires a formal Release of Information signed by you.
